Zeus I Said – Lauren Suchenski

Zeus I said,

or Dr. Suess

the hypotenuse

of something strident and towering

the square root of the square

the snail – the stale taste of air tasting back

Achilles, my heel

my wound, my wisdom

Feed me (my feet)

and walk me back home

Strongman, I said,

send me your shoulders

toss me atop this plank of glass ceilings

I’ll sit, I’ll wait

for gravity

to

push

downwards

with my body
